Michelle Williams' Native American Outfit On AnOther Magazine Causes Controversy!

Michelle Williams's Native American outfit on AnOther magazine draws controversy
Her movie may be doing great, but Michelle WilliamsAnOther magazine cover seemingly mimicking traditional Native American dress is stirring the controversy pot!
Several different outlets have accused the cover of being offensive to Native Americans, particularly because the actress has two long dark brown braids and wears a feathered necklace.
And though the pic is in black and white, there is an unmistakable ruddiness to the cheeks, which many feel depicts “Redface.”
It also calls to mind similar controversies about this type of cultural appropriation, like at the Victoria’s Secret show in December when Karlie Kloss was sent down the runway in lingerie and a huge feathered headdress.
Even though Michelle only has a few feathers on her outfit and is not wearing any revealing clothing, many feel that it is still just as disrespectful as the Victoria’s Secret outfit.
We’re sure offense wasn’t meant, but offense doesn’t have to be meant for offense to be taken, and stereotypical depictions of Native cultures can be very offensive indeed.
Neither AnOther magazine nor Michelle Williams have responded to the controversy.
What do U think of the cover — offensive or not so much???
