How sad!
Pat Summerall was a legendary NFL announcer for many decades, but he died today of cardiac arrest.
After playing as a pro himself for nearly a decade, Pat joined the CBS broadcast team in 1964 and quickly became a legend!
He most famously worked for years in tandem with John Madden — the iconic pair called many memorable football games together!
In a statement, John said:

“Pat was my broadcasting partner for a long time, but more than that he was my friend for all of these years. Pat Summerall is the voice of football and always will be.”

Aww!!
Ch-ch-check out Pat’s final broadcast performance with John from Super Bowl XXXVI…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

Pat was 82 years old and is survived by his wife Cheri.
Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
