Most actors try to avoid bad reviews like they’re the plague, only worse because the plague never says you’re too old for the part!
But Matthew McConaughey has never been one to follow conventional wisdom. He says:
“A few years ago, I did a really interesting kind of experiment.
My assistants gathered every negative review I’ve ever had and it was a good, thick pile. I sat down and said, ‘We’re gonna read every one of these.'”
Holy thumbs down! Why?! Matthew says:
“There was some really good constructive criticism. I’m like, ‘That’s what I would’ve said about that performance. You’re right.'”
Wow! That is WAY more Zen than we could be about all that negativity. Plus, it seems like he’s put the Mud-slinging to good use- the Magic Mike star has been killing it lately!
