Gleeks, we know last week’s casting news came as a blow, but at least we still have Sue Sylvester!
In a recent interview, Glee’s Jane Lynch opened up about the show’s Season 5 casting choices, particularly that of castmembers Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Amber Riley, and Harry Shum Jr.’s series regular cuts. And it seems the decision made complete sense to the HIGHlarious actress.
Jane said:
├óΓé¼┼ôThat├óΓé¼Γäós the nature of portraying a realistic view of high school: Kids graduate. They move on… I like that we├óΓé¼Γäóre following some of the kids to New York, where they├óΓé¼Γäóre trying to make it as actors and actresses. But the show will evolve, and when a show evolves that means you have to let some people go, and let some storylines go, so that you can pursue new ones.├óΓé¼┬¥
Though we hate to admit it, she has a point. And the show’s plot will probably be better for it.
As for Sue’s arc in the upcoming season, Jane revealed that she’s not in the know but will “figure in the plot somehow, since I am coming back. But how will I be allowed back? Your guess is as good as mine.”
We’ll just have to wait and see!
