Chris Brown might be facing a whole lot of legal problems right now, but that isn’t stopping him from trying to distract all of us… and helping some kids in the process!
Chris was in South Central LA for his WE US: Walk Everywhere in Unity├óΓé¼Γäós Shoes project, which provides Reebok Classics to youths throughout South Central! We’re talking A THOUSAND youths at three different sites! That’s a big impact!
The message of unity is sure hard to ignore when you have a come out like that!
Chris didn’t just take part behind the scenes, either: he was there to personally distributed the sneakers to hundreds of kids in each neighborhood! He met and took photos for a LOT of fans, and took time out of his busy schedule to do something good for those around him! He didn’t duck out a half hour in or anything, and he even joined the crowds with a message of encouragement and community.
He even stayed to give out every sneaker!
Here’s what Skipp Townsend had to say:
“It was truly a blessing to have Symphonic Love, Reebok, Developing Options and Team Breezy partner with 2nd Call, while building the relationships with the LA County Department of Parks and Rec’s, the LA County Sheriff Department, LAPD and the LA City Mayors GRYD office. The collaboration brings hope and encouragement to those normally disconnected from main stream society. It also proves that systematic change is necessary to support the entire community and the perception of community members in the lower economic areas. We thank Chris Brown, and his entire team for this wonderful day.”
We really hope it helps — the gang and community problems in South Central are just downright brutal. Anything to give these kids hope and a way out!
Keep up the good work, Chris! We’ll always give credit when credit’s due!
