Jenelle Evans' Baby Daddy Just Made Eye-Catching Move In Fight For Custody Of Son Jace -- DETAILS

This situation just keeps getting heavier.

Jenelle Evans’ complicated family saga has taken another emotional turn, and this latest development is raising eyebrows for all the deeply concerning reasons. Her ex, Andrew Lewis, is now stepping into the spotlight in a way we haven’t quite seen before, making a very public plea as he tries to regain custody of their teenage son, Jace.

According to new reports from TMZ on Monday, Andrew has launched a GoFundMe campaign claiming he and Jace’s grandmother, Barbara, are in the middle of a draining and expensive fight to bring the 16-year-old back into their care. The fundraiser paints a picture of a family under serious strain, both emotionally and financially, as they attempt to navigate what they describe as a heartbreaking situation.

In the campaign, Andrew said Jace has been hospitalized and placed in a mental health facility since February, where he remains today. Andrew claims that despite repeated efforts from both himself and Barbara to bring the teen home, Jenelle has refused, allegedly insisting Jace stay in treatment — even while she reportedly lives thousands of miles away.

Perhaps most troubling are Andrew’s claims that both he and Barbara have been cut off from communicating with Jace entirely. He describes the situation as desperate, emphasizing their desire to provide what they believe would be a more stable and supportive environment for the teen during this difficult chapter.

Of course, the financial toll is a major part of this story. Andrew says the fundraiser is meant to help cover what he calls enormous medical bills tied to Jace’s care, along with mounting legal fees as they pursue custody. He also notes that supporters had been reaching out, asking how they could help, prompting him to take this public step. Any additional funds, he says, would go toward Jace’s future needs.

But whoa, there — not so fast. Jenelle is pushing back, too. And she’s not staying silent about it.

In a statement to TMZ on Monday, she said:

“I want to address something that’s been circulating online. I’ve been made aware of a GoFundMe created by Andrew regarding legal and medical expenses for our son.”

She continued with a firm clarification of her own version of events:

“At this time, my son is FULLY covered by health insurance, and I AM currently handling and paying for all of his medical care. Additionally, this matter is not being fought out in court as suggested. We are scheduled to go through mediation, which is a more appropriate and constructive path focused on what’s best for our child. I will always prioritize my son’s well-being, stability, and privacy. I won’t be engaging in back-and-forth online, but I did feel it was important to clarify the facts.”

Wow…

And if all of this wasn’t already intense enough, let’s not forget how this situation reportedly began. Jace was placed into care a few weeks back after an alarming incident in which Barbara allegedly called the police in their North Carolina hometown, claiming the teen had pulled a gun on her.

So, yeah, it’s a lot. A fractured family, conflicting narratives, and a teenager caught in the middle of it all.

Whatever the truth may ultimately be, one thing is painfully clear: this is a serious, deeply personal crisis unfolding in public view — and the hope is that, somehow, the focus stays where it should be: on what’s best for Jace.
