Shailene Woodley has taken getting cut from the Spider-Man love web gracefully.
But when she wants something bad enough — like a role in next year├óΓé¼Γäós The Fault In Our Stars — well, let the letter-writing campaign begin!
In pursuring the role in of a teenage cancer patient who falls in love with an amputee from support group (Whoa!), the Golden Globe-nominated actress reached out to the author of the book on which the film is based. She said:
“Before I got The Fault In Our Stars, I wrote [author John Green] a pretty lengthy email just sort of saying, ‘I’m obsessed with you and your book and I would do anything to be a part of it. Please let me audition for you.├óΓé¼Γäó”
John replied he’d love to have her audition, but he needed her to know one thing, writing back to Shailene:
“I am not casting director.”
At least he’s honest!
Despite John├óΓé¼Γäós professional obstacle, Shailene prevailed with a role — and we can’t WAIT to see the results!!!
Ch-ch-check out more photos of the ambitious actress (below)!
