Madonna Interested In Potential Film Adaptation Of The Impossible Lives Of Greta Wells!

Madonna may have just found her latest movie project, Perezcious readers!!

Yes, yes, yes!!

The music legend turned filmmaker has a new one up her sleeve, now that she’s shown interest in adapting Andrew Sean Greer’s American novel The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells for the big screen!

The novel tells the tale of Greta Wells, a woman living in 1985 NYC who has just lost her gay twin brother to AIDS and undergoes electric shock therapy to overcome her depression. But things get really innnnneresting when she’s transported back in time to 1918 and 1941 as a result of her treatment!

At a recent book reading at Booksmith in San Francisco, the author himself revealed that Madonna reached out to him personally via phone call regarding the potential film project:

”What can I say? I got a phone call last week… I think it’s fine. No one’s asked me about this… from a celebrity who read the book and loved it so much she called me up personally to talk to me about it. I thought it was going to be one of her assistants who was like, loved your book, she’s interested. Right. She didn’t read it. But oh no no no. She called me. She read it. She totally got it. There were a couple other people interested and they sort of all made a deal together, and she’s optioned the rights to it. We’ll see what happens. But it’s fun because it was Madonna.”

Let’s hope this happens! We’d LOVE to see Madge’s take on this adventurous story!

P.S. Watch Andrew performing his ukelele-rendition of Madonna’s Material Girl during his Booksmith event (below)! It’s soooo great!
