It was a good morning indeed!
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis brought their marriage equality advocacy to a WHOLE new level.
The rapping duo granted a super fan’s dream proposal to her girlfriend during their Good Morning America performance in Central Park this morning in celebration of their hit song, Same Love.
Concertgoer Val caught the attention of comedic opener Tom Kelly with a rainbow-colored sign that read “Can I Propose to My Girlfriend On Stage?” while her oblivious GF Kara enjoyed the performance.
Tom remembered:
“I pulled Val and Kara up to the stage. In front of over 5,000 Macklemore fans, Val pulled the trigger. Val had a ring ready to go. It was my first time officiating an engagement in seven years of doing warm up for TV shows.├óΓé¼┬¥
Of course, Kara accepted in front of the thousands in the audience AND the chart-topping pair.
The icing on the same-sex wedding cake??! Kara and Val were invited to sit stage-side to enjoy the momentous occasion and even took some snaps with the Video Music Award nominees.
