Howard Stern‘s trusty sidekick Robin Quivers (he was truly afraid for her life!) took some time off this year to battle cancer, unbeknownst to fans and the world.
Luckily, she kicked its ass!
When we first heard that this happened, though, we didn’t get that many deets on how her cancer developed and how hard it affected her good pal, Howard. Now, Robin is updating everyone on the specifics!
Apparently her cancer developed from endometrial tissue, which is tissue in the uterus. This resulted in a battle that included chemotherapy and LOTS of stress. The treatment worked, though, and we’re happy to be able to say that she’s cancer free!
It was also revealed that even when she was ‘back’ at the show, she wasn’t in the studio — she’s been doing the show from home while undergoing treatment. If we had had surgery because of a “mass” in our pelvis to investigate, we’d wanna work from home too!
Not to mention the whole chemo thing!
According to Robin the tumor was the size of a grapefruit, and it took 8 hours to remove. We’re just glad it’s gone and she’s okay!
As for Howard, like we mentioned, he was afraid she was a “goner,” but he revealed more about how “freaked out” he was for her and how he wanted to be by her side:
“It was just a f**king crazy thing that came out of left field. Robin means more to me than anything. Seeing her go through this just f**king tore me up.”
Wow, so endearing. For someone who puts on such a rough exterior, we think we found his soft spot. And we know how hard it must be to see your good friend go through that kind of pain. We’re super over the moon to hear that Howard was there for her every step of the way.
You’re a badass, Robin! We love you!
