Time to pop a bottle because for the first time in Zoo Miami’s 33-year history, the birth of lion cubs is being celebrated!!
On September 24th, thee baby cubs were born in a special “off-exhibit” den.
The cubs were watched closely via camera for several days as the new mama took care of her babies.
Zoo staff was eventually allowed by the mother to take the babies in for a neonatal examination.
The staff found the sex of the cubs, their weight and their overall health.
They’re two males and female and they’re all in excellent health!!
After three months of intense baby cuteness, they’ll join the rest of the lions in the public exhibit. We can’t wait!
Can’t wait to see these little cuties roaming around!
