Boarding gate? More like boarding hate!
When Jeff White booked a flight from Florida to New York, he did not expect to be greeted with homophobia. Especially since he isn’t gay!
But thanks to a bit of carelessness on the part of Delta Airlines, that’s just what happened. His boarding pass had the very unfortunate confirmation code “H8GAYS.”
Delta spokesman Russell Cason apologized on behalf of the airline, assuring that the message was NOT intentional. He said:
“These confirmation codes are computer-generated and are completely random. We will make every effort to ensure that a similar combination does not occur in the future.”
We’re willing to give Delta Delta Delta the benefit of the doubt on this one. Maybe it was just a random accident and not a homophobic employee. But let us help ya help ya help ya out here.
The DMV has been dealing with people trying to put hate speech on license plates for years. We’re sure they have a list of six-digit codes that you could program your computers not to use.
That or have your computers enroll in install a sensitivity training program.
Or you could just use some plane common sense!
