We’re almost more curious about this than about the Red Room of Pain! We did say almost…
While we thought Fifty Shades Of Grey‘s Christian Grey was inspired by Twilight‘s Edward Cullen, one man believes he is supposedly the true muse behind E.L. James‘ titular character.
And his name is NOT Grey!
The Italian real estate agent goes by Alessandro Proto and believe it or not, he has a couple suspicious parallels with the hunky fictional character – at least so he says.
Actually, even though Alessandro insists he shies away from the media like Christian, he is now opening up to explain his encounter with the now-famous author back in 2010 a year before her X-rated book was published.
The entrepreneur listed:
“The firm Grey runs in the book is called Grey Enterprise Holding. Mine is called Proto Organization Holding. When I met E.L. James I used to drive a R8 Audi [similar to Christian’s R8 Audi Spyder]. My office is located at the 8th floor. It is the highest in the building. I came from nothing, so I see top floors as a metaphor for achievement and success. Everyone knows he made it, but nobody knows how he reached success. Same with me.”
As for the red room of pain??! That was all made up!
Alessandro continued:
“Everything that has to do with S&M is pure imagination, I assure you. I’m an old fashioned man when it comes to sex, I’m not into that kind of fantasies.”
Hmmmmm….
Inneresting, indeed!
We’re just having a hard time understanding why E.L. would claim the story to be fanfiction. Maybe because ALL of the novel is IN FACT a fantasy! LOLz!
Sorry, Alessandro. There just isn’t enough evidence.
Anyway, we could never envision Christian coming to the press to explain all of this.
That’s just soooo not mysterious!
