This One Direction member is making a difference in something other than music accomplishments!
When Louis Tomlinson heard of 1-year-old Harrison‘s story – he was deeply moved. And it isn’t hard to see why!
When Harrison was only three weeks old, he came down with meningitis, and after being rushed to the hospital, doctors thought his chances of surviving were impossible.
So, the child was moved to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice to spend his last few days in peace, but miraculously, after his ventilator was shut off, the young boy began to breathe again on his own! Harrison walked away from the near death situation with deafness in one ear and mild Cerebral Palsy.
Well, Louis was so touched by Harrison’s miracle story, he helped out with Bluebell Wood├óΓé¼Γäós Colour Dash 5k running event which raises money for families just like Harrison’s! And although Louis won’t be able to participate because of his scheduling conflicts, he’s decided to pass off his running vest number to Harrison!
Here’s what Louis said:
├óΓé¼┼ôHarrison├óΓé¼Γäós story is remarkable, it├óΓé¼Γäós been inspirational meeting him and his family. I can├óΓé¼Γäót think how difficult it must have been for them. Bluebell Wood is a fantastic place that helps so many children and I├óΓé¼Γäóm honoured to be their patron and help raise money. The Colour Dash run is going to be huge! I├óΓé¼Γäóm sorry that I won├óΓé¼Γäót be there to support the team but it is an honour to pass the number one vest to Harrison.”
The One Direction member met the little child in person, and it seems like the two really enjoyed meeting each other!
Oh, and did we mention that he had time to do this AND make his soccer debut this week??
The Colour Dash will take place on May 3rd, and both Harrison’s family and the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospital hope to raise enough funds to keep miraculous stories, such as Harrison’s, happening more frequently!
