Emotional surprises are the best!
And no one was more emotional OR surprised than this adorable second grader named Lyrique who thought she was just in the middle of another word game at her school.
But when the words spelled out “Lyrique’s Dad is Home” – this little girl saw someone she hadn’t seen in the longest of times!
Her military poppa!
Lyrique hadn’t seen Air Force Sergeant Wil Alteus since last August because of his extended service duty overseas, and she had NO idea when she would see him next!
Which is why she’s so clearly surprised here!! SO special!
