Did she learn NOTHING from Saturday Night Live‘s Beygency?!
MaJOR feminist icon bell hooks just Bill O’Reilly-style slammed Beyonc├â┬⌐ during a conversation this week with transgender advocate Janet Mock at The New School in Manhattan.
During the talk, Janet offered her own voluntary praise of Bey, saying that Destiny’s Child was a huge inspiration amidst a sea of blonde pop stars…
But bell fired back, explaining that she’s worried about the singer’s influence on young females:
“[There is] a part of Beyonc├â┬⌐ that is anti-feminist├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥that is a terrorist, especially in terms of the impact on young girls.”
An anti-femme terrorist!?
That’s way harsh, considering feminism is most of what she’s preaching on her latest album, especially in ***Flawless where she borrows sound clips from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie‘s powerful TED talk.
The activist went on further, revealing that she believes the public wouldn’t be so interested in Queen Bey if she wasn’t so wealthy:
“Let’s say if Beyonc├â┬⌐ was a homeless woman who looked the same way, or a poor, down and out woman who looked the same way, would people be enchanted by her? Or is it the combination of all of those things that are at the heart of imperialist, white supremacist, capitalist patriarchy?”
Let US just say that Beyonc├â┬⌐’s talent is indescribable, and she’d probably be plucked from her homelessness and given a record deal because she’s so ferocious!
And as a clear Yonc├â┬⌐ hater, one should probably not get caught dancing to the performer’s hits, right?! Because that would make her argument null and void, correct?!
After cleverly searching the interwebs, we’ve caught the feminist red handed. You LOVE Beyonc├â┬⌐ too — so don’t disrespect the queen!
