This is SO terrifying!!!
Alejandro Garibay, his brother Ernesto Garibay, and Antonio Saldana were almost dropped 103 stories down to the ground after the glass floor of the Willis Tower’s Ledge attraction started shattering beneath them!
Cue Final Destination scene!
Well, as scarring as the experience might have been, it turns out that the guys were never in any danger because it wasn’t the floor that cracked!
Wait, what?!? It’s made out of glass though?! How could it not be the floor?!
Don’t worry, the Skydeck Facebook page explained what really happened for everyone!
They said:
“Hi everyone, you may have heard recent news about The Ledge at Skydeck. We want you all to know The Ledge was designed with a protective coating that covers the glass surfaces to protect against scratches. This coating does not affect the structural integrity of The Ledge in any way. Occasionally, the protective coating will crack, as it is designed to in order to protect the surface of the glass. We are replacing the protective coating on the one affected Ledge.”
PHEW! That’s a relief!
But still, we’re sure that was the scariest moments of those guy’s lives so far!
Let’s hope the Willis Tower makes up for the scare of a lifetime that they gave the guys!
