Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull made the official FIFA World Cup anthem, so it only made sense that they’d perform it at the opening ceremony in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
So obviously people were REALLY upset when it came out that she wouldn’t be performing at all!
We had previously mentioned that there were “production issues” that kept her from performing.
Well now we know that those issues apparently involved money and her entourage!
Originally we thought it might have been more about her recent split from Casper Smart, but nope.
It was all about money and haggling with the World Cup organizers. The biggest issue was her travel expenses.
An inside source at the World Cup organizing committee said:
“She had wanted them to cover everything for her, from private transportation, to her hotel and the costs associated for her entire entourage.”
So basically, she wanted everything taken care of for her and her entourage, and they didn’t want to pay for it.
But it was music and soccer fans alike that helped persuade her to do the show after all! The source continued:
“The backlash was so significant that she decided that she needed to attend.”
Wow, so it was just literally because everyone was so upset she wasn’t performing that she changed her mind!
