Things didn’t work out with Disney‘s Zendaya, but that’s okay, because Nickelodeon was there to save the day! The Aaliyah Lifetime movie has suffered a few issues since it was announced, but now it sounds like things are moving forward. Wendy Williams took to Twitter today to announce, as executive producer, that filming will begin later this month├óΓé¼┬ªand their Aaliyah has been found! She tweeted:
I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah.

The name might not ring a bell, but you might know her as KT Rush in Nickelodeon’s House of Anubis. It will certainly be inneresting to see fan reactions to this new casting of a starlet who is less well-known than Zendaya. We wish her the best of luck in taking on this major role!
