The sequel to the critically acclaimed Sharknado made its debut on Wednesday night and it had EVERYONE buzzing about it!
With 3.9 million viewers, the shark-filled sequel became the most watched original movie EVER on the SyFy network — that’s also 3 times the ratings the first Sharknado film received.
Not only did the movie do super well on television, it broke a huge record on Twitter!
There was an estimated BILLION impression or Twitter conversations that involved the movie!
According to the network, Sharknado: The Second One dominated the top 10 trending topics in the U.S.!
There were more mentions of the flick on Twitter than Miley Cyrus‘ performance at the 2013 MTV VMAs AND Kimye during their wedding day!
That’s pretty impressive!
From the looks of those incredible stats, we definitely smell a threequel coming soon!
