Lady is an old black lab who was sent to a Sedan, Kansas, animal shelter after her original owner died.
She was adopted by a family who she became very attached to, though they felt she was too rough with their young puppy, so they took her back to the shelter. Sad face.
Eventually, Lady was adopted by another family in Independence, Kansas but she totally escaped that family and went all the way back to the first family who’d rejected her!
She went 30 miles to find her first adoptive fam!! Incredible!
Even after such an amazing act of dog love, no one took Lady and she ended up back in the shelter.
Thank goodness for Wrigley Gum heiress Helen Rosburg, a well-known dog lover. Not only has she personally adopted Lady, she’s sent a private jet to go pick up the pooch!
The doggy will now live out her days in a 10,000 square-foot home on a 120-acre farm that’s home to 300 rescue animals.
Yay! Happy ending!!
