Ian Somerhalder Tweets First Snap From The Vampire Diaries Set And Keeps Us Guessing About His Future On Season 6!

Vampire Diaries fans received a very bloody treat this week!
Ian Somerhalder , AKA Damon, tweeted a picture from the set of season 6 and he’s dripping in blood!
So, what does this blood mean for Damon’s future? Has he returned from purgatory to feed? Or is Damon getting his bite on somewhere in the after life?
The executive producer of the show, Julie Plec, hints at the latter option:

“It’s not torturous, but it’s by no means a roller coaster ride of fun. If nothing else, it’s a bit of an existential experience.”

Hmmm, existential? Sounds like Damon and Bonnie may be in purgatory for longer than we thought…
