Happy Birthday to Taylor Swift!
She may not have dropped any smash hits, but the Delicate singer still had an amazing year in 2018.
So as she turns 29, we decided to rack up five things we loved about the birthday girl this year!

1. She’s Always Willing To Try New Things
It seems like every year, Taylor takes another step into a new realm. This year? It’s streaming!
In case you hadn’t heard, the Shake It Off singer is giving away front row tickets to her Reputation tour — on your couch! She’s capping off the year by putting the whole show on Netflix!
What a great idea for all the people who can’t make it out to see the show live.
And speaking of new things…
2. She Finally Spoke Up About Politics!
This was a sore point with us for a long time. Taylor was always brave when it came to speaking up about the treatment of women — but not when it came to the very real threats to their health coming from ONE side of the political aisle.
But in 2018 she finally voiced her opinion, not only speaking out about the rights of women and the LGBT community but also pointing out how trying to run on a platform of racist fearmongering was wrong!
Anyone who wants to argue with that? Taylor doesn’t need their money.
3. Her Selflessness
Taylor has shown a real maturity in staying out of the spotlight this year. Multiple times we’ve heard about her making a sizable charitable donation not from her or her PR team — but from a recipient sharing on social media!
AND she’s been to all of boyfriend Joe Alwyn‘s movie premieres — but hasn’t even walked the carpet to keep from stealing ANY of his spotlight!
Pure grace. Oh, about that hot cup of Joe…
4. Her Taste In Men
We don’t know if the whispers these two are about to get engaged are true, but if they are we give our stamp of approval! It seems Taylor couldn’t have found a more down-to-earth guy to keep her grounded.
His humility is especially impressive considering he’s a tall, handsome movie star in THREE award contending films just this year!

5. She’s Keeping The Girls Together
The Old Taylor (you know, the one who’s dead?) was known as much for her feuds as for her breakups. Now it seems she has none!
She squashed rumors she was no longer friends with Karlie Kloss and Selena Gomez. She even accepted a (literal) olive branch from longtime nemesis Katy Perry!
So good to see the ladies at peace!
