This is so incredible! Humans rule!
A young black bear had been sighted by several people around Western Pennsylvania with a “bucket” stuck on its head.
He had been hanging around the area for so long that people even took to calling him “Bucket Bear.”
The “bucket” was actually an air bag style cushion that goes between a big rig and its trailer. And it was stuck on this young bear’s head for weeks and weeks.
An area resident then created a Facebook campaign, “Save the Bucket Bear,” that got the attention of Dean Hornberger and his girlfriend Samantha Eigenbrog, two local, volunteer animal rescuers.
After tracking down the bear, three more rescuers, Shawn Balcita, Eric Kribbel and Kaitlyn Lakin, arrived to help hold the bear still while they tried to remove the “bucket.”
We can’t even imagine what that poor bear had gone through all that time but we’re so glad he’s free now!
