Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has had a rough life lately.
He’s dealt with substance abuse problems, seriously negative media portrayals and now something worse than it all:
Cancer.
Rob Ford was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive type of malignant tumor. No matter how he’s handled his time in public office, that’s so awful!
One of Rob’s doctors said:
“It is a liposarcoma ├óΓé¼┬ª it arises out of the fatty tissue, but it is definitely a malignant tumor. It comprises about one per cent only of all cancers. It has about 60 different cell types.”
That’s pretty terrifying.
He’s going to begin chemotherapy soon and will receive the treatment for three days at the hospital then spend the rest of his recovery at home.
That cycle will be repeated and then doctors will check the tumor to see how it’s responding to treatment.
Doctors first noticed a problem when they found a “small nodule” in Ford’s buttock, behind his left hip.
He’s in some pain but is managing it well.
We wish him nothing but a full, speedy recovery.
