As if surfing needed to be any more amazing!
Professional surfers Sam McIntosh and Bruce Irons pioneered the art of flare surfing.
Basically, one day McIntosh randomly suggested Irons strap some road flares to his board and go catch some waves.
Irons was unsure but went through with the stunt anyway… and the results were amazing!

The flares back-lit him in a red, fiery glow that reflected off the water in the coolest way.
This video has actually been around for a while but never picked up real traction until now! How did people miss this??
