The Shake It Off singer announced Monday morning on Good Morning America that she has officially been named the Global Welcome Ambassador for NYC!
How did this come about? She said:
“You learn a lot when you get here, and the cool thing about being named the Welcome Ambassador for Tourism ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ which was the craziest, coolest thing ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ is that I’m still learning. But I’m so enthusiastic about this city that I feel like, when I love something, I’m very vocal about it, I’m vocal about it with my music. I just go around like, ‘Everybody! New York is amazing!’ So I think they just picked up on that and gave me a title.”
Makes sense to us. Gurl is always seen all over the city, she talks it up all the time, she wrote a song for 1989 called Welcome To New York – though we heard that one was about Harry Styles.
