Mariah Carey recently pre-taped a performance at the Rockefeller Center christmas tree lighting ceremony… a performance that had a lot of fans shaking their heads in dismay.
They just couldn’t believe one of the best singers from the past twenty years didn’t sound the way she used to!
However, one major fan (and aspiring singer named Emily McNamara) came to Mariah’s defense with a YouTube video that was kind of amazingly brilliant!

In the video, Emily breaks down Mariah’s performance and shows how the singer is actually giving a pretty darn good performance considering that her vocal cords seem to be kind of shot.
And the YouTuber also believes that anyone who is truly criticizing Mariah should take a look at themselves and see if their life compares to this singing star.
Basically her point is yes she’s a diva, yes she’s not as powerful as a singer as she once was, but the lady has been through quite a lot lately, and maybe we should all remember that sometimes!
Fair and valid point!
But this video isn’t just fair — it’s also hilarious!
Check out the video for yourself (below) !!!
