Earlier today, Melissa Rivers filed a lawsuit against Yorkville Endoscopy and blames its doctors for the death of her mother, Joan Rivers.
The 47-year-old is accusing the clinic of medical malpractice, alleging that they didn’t perform a tracheotomy during the 20 minutes where doctors tried to revive Joan back to life.

The lawsuit names five doctors as defendants, including the comedian’s personal physician — Gwen Korovin — for being in the surgery room unpermitted, as well as another who allegedly took cellphone pics during the operation.
In a statement released shortly after the suit was filed, Melissa explains her decision to press charges.
She says:
“Filing this lawsuit was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make├óΓé¼┬ª What ultimately guided me was my unwavering belief that no family should ever have to go through what my mother, Cooper and I have been through. The level of medical mismanagement, incompetency, disrespect, and outrageous behavior is shocking and frankly, almost incomprehensible.”
One of Rivers’ lawyers, Jeremy Bloom, added:
“Had doctors acted as physicians for Joan Rivers instead of groupies, Joan Rivers would have been doing ├óΓé¼╦£Fashion Police’ last week.”‘
We just hope the truth prevails in honor of Joan’s legacy.
