Sad news.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that Tommy Chong is once again battling cancer. The 77-year-old shared at the 826LA 10th anniversary party in Santa Monica, CA that he was undergoing treatment for rectal cancer. Oh no.
He shared:
“I’ve had some medical issues lately. I got diagnosed with rectal cancer.”
It was only in 2012 that the That ’70s Show star was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In the past, Chong’s been a vocal advocate for the decriminalization of marijuana and used it actively during his first bout of cancer.

And it seems he’s doing the same thing this time around.
He continued:
“I’m using cannabis like crazy now, more so than ever before. I’m in treatment now. I’ve been ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ just the case either way, either I get healed or I don’t. But either way, I’m going to make sure I get a little edge off or put up.”
Hmm, very inneresting.
The veteran actor also shared that the book Spiritual Power of Truth has been extremely comforting during this time.
He explained:
“It’s what’s kept my head up. So that’s my book.”
Back in 2012, the Cheech & Chong celebrity credited Mary Jane as a factor in curing his disease. He even went on CNN and spoke with Don Lemon about legalizing the drug.
He relayed:
“I’ve got prostate cancer, and I’m treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis. So [legalizing marijuana] means a lot more to me than just being able to smoke a joint without being arrested… I’m taking it as a medicine.”
We’re thinking of Tommy and his loved ones during this trying time. We hope you get better soon!
