We know you didn’t mean it!!
Liam Payne was slammed by fans online after a One Direction concert in Columbus, Ohio where several people felt he had made a homophobic statement.
At the concert Liam was introducing the song Girl Almighty, by saying:
“This is my favorite song off the last album, and it is about trying to find that number one woman of your life, which none of you can relate to, because most of you are girls. Except for the boys in here, you know what I’m talking about.”
Shortly after, he received several hateful messages and comments calling him out for what he said.

But the 1D singer swears that he wasn’t being homophobic and didn’t mean anything by it. He took to Twitter to defend his previous statement by tweeting:
lol think some people take things to literal these days not gunna comment on it anymore you guys know what I meant it was meant in general

And all some people want to concentrate on was a throw away statement about a song that I love

Though he put up his best defense, he did make sure to apologize to those that he may have actually offended by tweeting:
I’m sorry to those I offended really I am but there’s no need for some of the things I’m being called
— Liam (@Real_Liam_Payne) August 19, 2015
I’m just here to make people smile I kinda consider it my job role

It makes sense that people would be a sensitive to this, but at the same time, we totally believe Liam didn’t mean anything by it.
But most of all, we still love you, Liam!
