Friends Of Cathriona White Share Heartfelt Messages In Wake Of Her Tragic Death

Dear friends of Cathriona White are taking to social media to express their sadness about the Irish beauty’s tragic death.
As we’ve been reporting, the on/off girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey died this week in an apparent suicide.
In the midst of statements released by Carrey and Cat’s family, her closest friends are honoring her life with heartfelt memories.

She is remembered as thoughtful and kind by all those who knew her. One pal shared on Instagram:

Dear Cat, my dear friend. I am going to miss you. I remember the first time we hung out and we cried laughing watching Zoolander. Or when you dropped everything to help me plan and throw my first art show. Or the last time I saw you. You dropped everything to come take care of me because I was sick. You brought me tea and vitamins. You are the sweetest kindest person I ever had the honor of calling my friend. I love you and I miss you. In another tribute, a friend recalled Cat’s compassion:

The last text I got from Cat read ” Hey babe, checking on you, if you need me I’m here for you and I love you” well, that was on Sept 22nd, and now today she’s gone. She was in pain herself, but checking on me to see what I needed. That really sums up who she was. I valued her friendship so much, because I can count on one hand how many people who ask how I am, or even give a fuck about me at all. Last month I was helping her at her house and all we did was laugh, she let me drag her to spin class, hiking and every other workout you could possibly imagine, and want to kill me after. When someone takes their life, we all think about what we could have done, if anything. The truth is most of us are so consumed with our own “busyness” and we aren’t there for eachother the way we should be, and when these things happen we’re reminded again of how important friendship is and how soon we can lose eachother. She was loved by so many of us and we will continue to love her and talk about her and celebrate her life. Another post to Facebook expressed remorse and offered helpful facts about depression:

“Genuine clinical depression isn’t a weakness or something you can cheer up from. It’s a medical condition where chemicals in your brain aren’t functioning in a ‘normal’ way.”
