Being in the closet is AWFUL!
Gus Kenworthy has officially been out for about a month and a half now, and it seems like he’s ready to talk about his history of playing it straight.
The Olympic skier may currently be dating actor/hottie Matthew Wilkas, but that doesn’t mean he’s always kept it strictly dickly.

In a recent interview with US Weekly, the 24-year-old came clean about dating ladies in order to seem cool, saying:
“I used to hook up with girls to be cool with the guys. There were times I would cry afterward…
I was at the point where I couldn’t continue to lie, I was worried that I’d be known as ├óΓé¼╦£the gay skier,’ and everything else about me would be overlooked. I have a big fan base of young girls, and I didn’t want to disappoint them.”
We can’t imagine having to live such a lie!
Luckily, Gus has received nothing but positive vibes from family and fans alike since coming out. He revealed:
“I was blown away by the support, and it’s insane how many people have come out to me ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ even closeted athletes. I feel like I’m helping battle gay stereotypes, because I compete in a rugged action sport.”
