Every year at the Oscars, the In Memoriam segment honors actors, actresses, producers, and other esteemed members of the Hollywood community who have passed away in the last year.
Unfortunately, there seems to be some sort of problem year after year as the Academy somehow leaves someone out for one reason or another — just look at Joan Rivers‘ infamous omission last year.

Well 2016’s show was no different as Juliette Lewis‘ father Geoffrey Lewis was somehow left out of the In Memoriam reel — as was legendary actor Abe Vigoda.
Geoffrey appear in several Clint Eastwood films as well as several flicks; Vigoda is most widely recognized for his role in The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II.
Well Juliette noticed her father’s snub and took to Twitter to call out the Academy by saying:
I know @TheAcademy didn’t mean to overlook my dad #GeoffreyLewis in the memorium. who was beloved by so many https://t.co/HKaEN9JscA

We love how respectful the 42-year-old kept things while asking for a bit more respect for her father!
But the Natural Born Killers actress wasn’t done talking about her dad and must have felt particularly sentimental as she also took to Instagram to share:
Where I get it from. ❤️ #GeoffreyLewis

What do you think of Lewis’ response her father being omitted from the In Memoriam segment?
