Giorgio Armani Announces He's Going Fur-Free Starting This Year! Get The Deets HERE!

PETA is LOVING this!
This is HUGE!
On Tuesday, Georgio Armani announced that — beginning this year — he will no longer be using fur in his designs! Starting with their fall/winter 2016 season, The Armani Group‘s collections will stop incorporating animal coats into their garments.

The 81-year-old said in the exciting announcement:

“I am pleased to announce that the Armani Group has made a firm commitment to abolish the use of animal fur in its collections. Technological progress made over the years allows us to have valid alternatives at our disposition that render the use of cruel practices unnecessary as regards animals. Pursuing the positive process undertaken long ago, my company is now taking a major step ahead, reflecting our attention to the critical issues of protecting and caring for the environment and animals.”

The Italian designer’s animal-friendly news is a part of the company’s deal with the Fur Free Alliance.
These new partners are hoping that the fashion great’s decision will also inspire other brands to ditch designs with fur, and instead use different alternatives.
FFA’s chairman, Joh Vinding, commented:

“Mr. Armani has been a trendsetter in the fashion world for decades and this latest announcement is proof that compassion and innovation are the future of fashion.”

And naturally, PETA is pleased with the announcement as well. The animal rights organization took to Twitter to celebrate the upcoming change, writing:

We LOVE this! Good call, Giorgio!
