Talk about a guardian angel!
Orlando, Florida was struck with tragedy over a week ago when Pulse Nightclub became the target of a vicious shooting that left 50 people dead, including the gunman.

Since the terrible event, many have paid tribute and mourned the victims in beautiful ways. Sadly, not everyone is as sensitive…
The sad excuses for humans that are the Westboro Baptist Church — you know, the “God Hates F*gs” group that basically has their own religion and protests EVERYTHING — decided on Saturday that they were going to protest the funerals of the people killed at Pulse. UGH!
Well thankfully, some volunteers at Orlando Shakespeare Theater decided they weren’t going to stand for the WBC’s RIDICULOUS shenanigans and fashioned 11 sets of angel wings for people to wear to face off against the protesters!
Before the protest over the weekend, one of the volunteers shared a snap of their project:

If you’re wondering what happened on Saturday, take a peek for yourself as one Twitter user shared a video of the Westboro members FINALLY leaving the scene with a little help from some angels:

A couple other supporters were also extremely happy to see the angels out as they shared:

Jim Helsinger, artistic director for the theater group, talked a bit about the project saying:
“Volunteers will be wearing these large, white angel wings to show their support, proclaim love, and block the view of mourners from potential protesters.”
We can’t believe that people out there like the Westboro supporters exist, but we’re just glad that love won out at the end of the day!
What do you think of the angel technique?
