Her story may have been short lived on Stranger Things, but Shannon Purser is moving onto better things in her acting career!
The breakout teen — who made her acting debut playing fan favorite Barb on Netflix‘s Summer hit — has landed a new movie role after a recent trip to Los Angeles!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 19-year-old traveled to El Lay for a week to meet with top casting directors from ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and Sony — and is already finding herself knee-deep in so many roles that they almost bring #JusticeForBarb.

Not only did Purser score a guest spot on The CW‘s Archie reboot Riverdale, but she’s apparently also headed for the big screen!
That’s because the Atlanta native just landed a small role opposite Melissa McCarthy in the upcoming comedy Life of the Party — which will be helmed by McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone.
Purser’s manager Matt Shelton said the actress’s overnight success has been a “whirlwind,” telling THR:
“It’s been a whirlwind of an experience to have such a high level of excitement surrounding Shannon, and the types of meetings and projects coming her way. It’s a true testament to the layers and nuance she was able to build into the character to help it resonate with the audience the way it has, and of course, a little luck.”
Who’s jealous now, Nancy Wheeler!?
VIVA LA BARB!
