Kim Kardashian West may have more Instagram followers, but Paris Hilton says she’s the one to invent the selfie!
In a new interview with W Magazine, the hotel heiress and entrepreneur claimed stake to the self-portrait, because why wouldn’t she be the one to have started the trend??
Paris revealed:
“If a beeper had a camera, I would have taken a selfie with it. I think I have a selfie from when I was a little kid, like on a disposable camera.”
That’s going to be worth millions one day!!

And while reminiscing on those days, the 36-year-old explained how she basically also invented being an influencer… along with Nicole Richie:
“We started a whole new genre of celebrity that no one had ever seen before. Nowadays, I feel like it’s so easy becoming famous. Anybody with a phone can do it.”
Seems accurate!!
There wasn’t much of a theme to Hilton’s interview, but she did have something to say about the Kardashians:
“I’ve known the family my whole life. They are all intelligent, beautiful business women and I’m proud of them and the brand they’ve built.”
What a beautiful compliment, but not much later, she seemingly threw shade at them when talking about being a reality TV star:
“Nowadays, everything is just so scripted and fake. Everything is planned out. There’s nothing real, really. I’m glad that I did it in the beginning when it was organic and fun.”
Damnnnn!
It’s all different now, and so is Paris, as she confessed:
“It’s a totally different vibe. I’m more mature now. I hate when people call me a ├óΓé¼╦£former reality star.’ I want to be known for my business and inventing a new wave.”
Sounds like the 2000s are coming back big time, and it’s all Paris’ doing!!
