BTS is taking a break to rest and recharge!
The popular seven-member K-pop boy band has been going hard for the last few years, taking over markets all over the world with their pop-infused, catchy hits. But now, they’re going to be taking a little time off away from each other and the boy band grind, according to news just released by Big Hit Entertainment.

The entertainment company released the news in both Korean and English on Sunday morning, as you can see (below):

The English-language message is in pretty small font there; here’s the full message, informing fans of BTS’ withdrawal from the public eye… for now (below):
“Hello. This is Big Hit Entertainment.
We would like to announce that for the first time since their debut, BTS will be going on an official and extended period of rest and relaxation.
Today’s LOTTE DUTY FREE FAMILY CONCERT performance will mark the last scheduled event before the members prepare to take their vacations.
This period of rest will be an opportunity for members of BTS, who have relentless driven themselves towards their goal since their debut, to recharge and prepare to present themselves anew as musicians and creators. This will also provide them with a chance to enjoy the ordinary lives of young people in their 20s, albeit briefly.
During this time, the members will rest and recharge in their own personal ways.
Should you have a chance encounter with a member of BTS while they are on vacation, we ask that you show consideration for their need to rest and enjoy their private time off.
BTS will return refreshed and recharged to return all the love you have and continue to show them.

This will mark the first extended period of rest for the boys pretty much since they got together and debuted back in 2013, so to say it’s been a wild ride is probably a bit of an understatement.

And yet still, it makes us wonder… The statement (above) makes it pretty clear the rest will be somewhat regimented and short — rumors are flying around suggesting the boys will get about two months off — but what if it gets extended past that?! There are a lot of stars in play here, and lots of moving parts, so we can only hope for their fans’ sake this is more of a short rest than a long-term “time off” for the boys to work on separate projects, or something.
Who knows. Guess we’ll see in a few months! Here’s to the guys living it up and taking some time for themselves now, however long this rest period may last for them! Enjoy it while you got it, fellas!
