What a touching tribute to his son’s memory.

Brian Burke, the general manager of Team USA and the Toronto Maple Leafs, lost his openly gay son Brendan in a car accident only a few weeks ago, but is already making moves to do advocacy work on behalf of homosexuals.

He plans to do public-service announcements geared to prevent the bullying of gay children, and will march in the Toronto Pride Parade.

Says Burke:

“I’d promised him I would march with him. He won’t be there, but I will.”

So, so sad. We think his son would be very proud of him.

Our thoughts are with the Burkes during this difficult time.
