In Malawi this morning, a judge ruled that the two gay men who were arrested in December for getting engaged will have to stand trial for their “crimes.”

This order will demand that Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga’s lawyer call forth defense witnesses to help deny charges that they partook in “gross indecency.” Having already spent three months in jail, if they are convicted of committing “homosexual acts”, they can received a maximum prison sentence of 14 years!

Absurd! We’re sure other people have done a lot worse with a lot less punishment!

Here’s hoping it won’t come to that for you guys!
