Gabourey Sidibe’s mom Alice Tan Ridley, who is a subway singer, has taped her performance in front of the America’s Got Talent judges and says she “was pleased” with the way it turned out.

“The judges knew who I was and the audience really supported me, so, I think that I can make it through to the next stage. I’ve been told not to say too much though. People will just have to watch the show to see how I did – I better not say anything else in case I get into trouble!”

Gabby’s mom is the front-runner of the competition, with the producers hoping she becomes the next Susan Boyle.

The show premieres June 1st.

We can’t wait to see her blow the roof off!
