It looks like Aaron Hernandez still has a few fans on the outside!
Twin brothers Maurkice and Mike Pouncey were teammates of the former footballer at the University of Florida and were recently spotted out and about wearing some interesting accessories: baseball caps that read “Free Hernandez!”
The hats proved to be a controversial fashion choice, and we’re guessing it has something to do with the fact that Aaron has been charged with MURDER!!!
Well the backlash must’ve gotten back to the brothers, as Maurkice took to Twitter to issue an apology, saying:
“I fully recognize the seriousness of the situation involving my former teammate, and I regret that my actions appear to make light of that serious situation. I apologize to anyone who was offended by my actions.”
There’s a certain time and place for silly novelty hats, and now is neither the time nor the place!
Like we said before, Aaron is being charged with murder, not some petty, victimless crime. If he is actually found to be guilty, that means someone lost their life because of him.
That’s definitely not the type of person we would want to be supporting on a baseball cap!
