After being called out for making some pretty ugly comments toward the LGBT community, the publicist for Adam Carolla thought it would be best to apologize:
I’m sorry my comments were hurtful. I’m a comedian, not a politician.
THAT apology is what’s “YUCK!”
Yes, you’re a comedian, but one with piss poor taste!
If he thinks his occupation can get him off the hook for saying such degrading comments on a civil rights issue that’s large in our country right not, he’s mistaken.
And this isn’t the first time he’s masqueraded his hate as comedy. He once said on Loveline that “all things being equal, [gay parents are] not as good as [straight parents].
In response to his recent comments, GLADD issued a statement:
Given his history of anti-gay and racist comments, networks and advertisers should know what their money is supporting if they choose to hire Adam Carolla. The gross intolerance that he tries to pass off as comedy should not have a place on our airwaves.
Agreed! Freedom of speech is still freedom of speech, but not everyone is going to want to pay for such hateful speech. Sponsors should know!
