You know, if people would just open up their minds a little bit, imagine the good it would to for them. How exhausting it must be to protest every little thing that may or may not be considered vulgar or offensive. (Neither of which Adam Lambert is, mind you!)
A group of Malaysia’s Islamists are opposing Glambert’s planned concert for this Thursday in Malaysia, condemning him as promoting “gay culture”. The Pan Malaysian Islamic Party has threatened to rally against the performance with as much force as possible, releasing a statement saying:
“Adam Lambert’s shows… are outrageous, with lewd dancing and a gay performance that includes kissing male dancers, this is not good for people in our country.”
How’s that, exactly? Because Adam’s different and puts on a show that reflects his style and flair?! Spare us the tirade!
Their protests might be in vain, however, as a rep from the Malaysia’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Ministry has announced that Adam signed a contract agreeing to “abide by the Ministry’s rules on performances, which can require foreign performers to tone down their acts to suit local sensibilities.”
So there! Get your panties out of a twist and try to enjoy the music! That’s what it is suppose to be about, after all.
