Adam Lambert Walks Away From RCA Records & Into Glee's Open Arms!

Glee will ease his pain!

With a new, fabulous gig on the horizon, Adam Lambert isn’t stopping there with his major career changes!

After releasing two full-length albums with RCA Records, Trespassing and For Your Entertainment, Adam has decided to walk away from his contract with the company!

It seems that Adam and RCA have finally reached a point they can’t get past as the label was pushing for him to release a covers only album, and that just won’t do for our boy.

Clearly, since he’s joining Glee next season, he doesn’t have a problem with covers. But don’t go thinking he was going to create a full album of them.

He released a letter to The Hollywood Reporter explaining his decision to leave RCA. He wrote:

“I’ve had an amazing few years working with the team at RCA … That said, at this point, we are indeed having the oft-cited “creative differences” as to what my next project will be. Your article was correct, the label is “pushing for an (80’s) covers album,” and feels that this is the only kind of release they are prepared to support. While there are lots of great songs from that decade, my heart is simply not in doing a covers album … Artistically & professionally, I think it is essential that I continue with this evolution. I am already deep into writing new material with some very talented colleagues for a brand new album, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this new sound & direction.”

New music?! We totes passed over that part because of all the dramz!

Glee AND new music?! That’s almost too much to handle, but we’ll find a way. And we’re sure Adam will find a way to release the music he wants out there!

In the meantime, cover fans can surely catch him doing some AH-Mazing covers on the new season of Glee!
