It’s truly a sad day for love…
Backstreet Boys alum AJ McLean and his wife Rochelle are splitting up after 12 years together! In a statement released to TMZ on Monday, the estranged couple broke the upsetting news:
“Marriage is hard, but worth it. We have mutually decided to separate temporarily to work on ourselves, and on our marriage with the hope of building a stronger future.”
“Temporarily”? So… all hope isn’t actually lost? Maybe a bit of time apart is just what they need in order to rediscover their love! Is that just wishful thinking on our part? On theirs? What do YOU think??

Their statement concluded:
“The plan is to come back together and continue to nurture our love for one another, and our family. We ask for respect and privacy at this time. Separation is hard enough without the commentary, please be kind and remember there are children involved.”
We really hope that with time, the two can make things work because we absolutely ADORE them together! The two tied the knot back in 2011 and share daughters Ava Jayne and Lyric Dean. Wishing all the best of the kids here.
