It looks like we have a real winner from the Bachelorette series! Ali Fedotowsky is beautiful AND smart!
It’s been a year since she and Roberto Martinez committed to each other with an engagement ring. And with the nation’s attention, the media has been determined to know a wedding date.
But Ali knows better. She and Roberto really love each other, and they don’t want a rush ruining what they have. We mean, they met on a reality show for crying out loud! They’re thinking big picture here.
Ali says:
We’re still engaged; we’re still living together. We just don’t feel the need to walk down the aisle right now.
When we actually did have a date that worked for us, I found out that I had to have knee surgery. No wedding is simple but this wedding is even more complicated.
We didn’t meet in the most traditional way. We had a very short courtship and we only knew each other nine weeks before we got engaged. We are still figuring out our lives as individuals.
At this point we’re not planning a wedding. Does that mean we’re fighting? No. Does that mean we’re miserable? Absolutely not! We’re happy where we are. When we have things figured out, we’ll let you know.
Good for you guys! Seriously! We know it’s easy to get caught up in wedding excitement (we love waiting for pics just as much as the next person), but it’s important to know each couple is different.
One couple can be together for eight months when they walk down the aisle and live happily ever after. Another can be together for eight years before they set a date, and that’s great too.
