Allison Holker is setting the record straight on what happened between Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Ellen DeGeneres.
The late dancer was a longtime executive producer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show prior to its cancelation in May 2022 over toxic workplace claims. tWitch was also Ellen’s DJ and sidekick, and they had a lovely rapport — at least on camera. After he tragically died by suicide seven months after the show’s end, rumors quickly started flying that their relationship had become strained… But Allison says that’s not true!
During an interview with People published on Tuesday, the widow addressed the speculation:
“I don’t love when I see rumors flying around, and it was really disappointing for me to see that people tried bringing Ellen to the situation and targeting her. It was not true. Ellen’s wonderful, and she’s just been a support system.”
That’s so great to hear. tWitch clearly was going through a lot before his unfortunate passing… A rift with his former colleague should have been the last thing on his radar. Not to mention how much Ellen already had on her plate in terms of public scrutiny!

Allison continued:
“If anything, she was a great example to Stephen. They had a great relationship, and he loved that relationship with her. They had something that was so special. I hope people can see that that bond is something that we shouldn’t tear down.”
Prior to the late TV personality’s death, Ellen aired a special segment thanking him for his contributions to the show and her life over the several years they collaborated. Watch (below):
We can definitely see that special bond Allison is talking about! After his death, the controversial TV host took to X (Twitter) to mourn him:
“I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia.”

She’s also honored him on social media on both the one and two-year anniversaries of his death.
We’re so glad to hear rift rumors shut down… But while tWitch and Ellen were all good, Allison has noted his change in schedule after the show’s cancelation had a “destabilizing” effect.
