Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke are opening up about the problems they faced within their marriage behind closed doors!
Summer House fans will recall that the former couple made a shocking confession about their relationship while hashing out Amanda’s controversial relationship with West Wilson after they separated on the Season 10 reunion — they didn’t have sex “the entire time” they were married! Yes, you read that correctly! They were married for four years before breaking up in January, and they didn’t sleep together during that time! Wild!

The pair didn’t get into why at the time. Understandably, the cast was too focused on the Scamanda of it all to really dive deep into Kyle and Amanda’s problems. But now the pair are getting into detail about their intimacy issues on Tuesday’s reunion for In The City. During the episode, Amanda admitted that her mental health had been a “part of” the problem for them:
“I was depressed. Depression will do that. That was part of it.”
Kyle explained that they “went into a funk” after their wedding in September 2021, and he “tried for years” to get into couples therapy. However, Amanda felt like a big part of their issues stemmed from him not “courting” her and prioritizing Loverboy and his DJ career:
“He would work all day, work all night, then come to bed, tell me to answer an email and then try to have sex with me. It felt like there was no foreplay.”
The swimwear designer said that they had “no emotional intimacy,” no “conversation” in their relationship, and she often felt “like an object,” adding:
“Then the depression hit also, and then it was just an unfortunate storm. Then he would still go out. He would still do these things. We get into big fights.”
Oof!
Despite previously saying they never had sex during their marriage, Kyle clarified they slept together a total of three times — and Amanda agreed. After some prompting from host Andy Cohen, he eventually admitted he is partially to blame for their marriage ending before saying:
“One of my issues, like every single thing we ever did, was only because I arranged it. So, like every date we ever went on, trip, getaway, I’m putting in the hours now or then, so we can provide for a family later.”
Amanda, however, pushed back! She shared that she was “put on the back burner” and that his behavior “took a toll” on their marriage:
“Your solution was for me to read a book on how to date an entrepreneur, and I wanted you to take me on a date. So like you’re literally saying exactly what I’m saying is that you worked really hard for our future, but it did have an effect on our marriage and our relationship.”
Oh, Kyle. Yikes. What were you thinking with that book?
It’s no wonder they’re no longer together. They’re clearly not on the same page or connected to each other. What are your thoughts on Kyle and Amanda’s confessions, Perezcious readers? Tell us in the comments (below).
